We took a little 4 night get away and jetted off to Palm Springs. It was our first trip as a family of four and we had the BEST time. Tim and I go to Palm Springs at least once a year and it's been our guilty pleasure. We love going in the summer time because it's hot; perfect weather for pools, drinks and warm nights.
We stayed at the Marriott Desert Springs Villas and we can't wait to go back. It was super kid friendly. They had multiple pools, activities (movies by the pool, ice cream socials) and we met lots of other families who had kids. We cooked every single night and took advantage of our huge kitchen. We also went over the the Marriott Desert Springs hotel and took the boat tour with Jillian and hung out with the flamingos.
Jillian is a total water kid. See those water wings? We first used them while we were in Hawaii last year when she was just 18 months. She's been wearing them whenever we go swimming ever since then. Catch is; they create a sense of false confidence. On our last day there, we were packing up our things heading back to our room, so we took them off of her. Not one minute later Jillian was standing at the deep end of the pool and decided to just dive in. I was holding Weston, so I screamed to Tim, "GET HER!!" Tim was on it, dived in and pulled her up. I think the whole ordeal was 15 seconds, nothing serious, but enough to scare the beejeesus out of us. Jillian on the other hand wasn't phased, and was back in the pool later that night for some night swimming. I held her a little longer that day and gave her extra kisses.
Despite this small hiccup, we are already talking about going back next year, can't wait!
